Summary

ExifBoss does not require an account and does not operate a server that receives your photos or EXIF metadata. The app does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs.

Photo-library access

ExifBoss asks for photo-library permission so you can select images, view their metadata, create edited or cleaned copies, save results, and—only when you choose—delete originals after clean copies are saved. Your device may let you grant access to selected photos instead of your full library.

The app does not request camera or microphone access. On supported devices, saving a result may require add-only or write permission, and deleting an original may require additional system confirmation.

Information processed on your device

When you choose a photo, ExifBoss may process:

• The photo's image content and local file or asset reference.
• File name, type, size, pixel dimensions, and library asset identifier.
• EXIF fields such as camera make and model, lens, software, artist, copyright, capture dates, orientation, and GPS or location metadata.
• Edits you enter, including replacement dates, descriptive fields, or coordinates.

This processing occurs locally using platform photo tools and local EXIF-processing code. Great Minds Create does not receive this information through the app.

Local files and retention

Selected photo references and displayed metadata are kept in the running app session. ExifBoss creates edited or cleaned JPEG files in local temporary app storage. Temporary files may remain until the operating system clears the app cache or you remove the app.

Copies you save to your photo library remain there until you delete them. Photos and copies may sync to iCloud Photos, Google Photos, or another library or backup provider according to your device settings and that provider's policy. ExifBoss does not control those services.

Original-photo deletion

ExifBoss does not automatically overwrite an original photo. After a clean copy is saved, the app may offer an explicit choice to keep or delete the original. If you choose deletion, the operating system or photo provider performs that action. You should maintain backups of important photos.

Sharing

When you choose Share, ExifBoss presents the device's system share interface. The app or service you select then receives the cleaned JPEG and processes it under its own terms and privacy policy. ExifBoss does not choose the recipient or upload a photo before you make that selection.

Third-party software and platform services

ExifBoss is built with React Native and Expo modules and uses piexifjs for local EXIF processing. These components run as part of the app; ExifBoss does not use them to send your photo content or metadata to their developers. Apple, Google, your photo-library provider, and a service you select for sharing may separately process information as part of their platform services.

Data we do not collect through the app

ExifBoss does not sell or rent personal information, build advertising profiles, or track activity across other companies' apps and websites. The current app does not offer accounts or in-app purchases and does not use advertising, analytics, attribution, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs.

Support email

If you email support, Great Minds Create receives your email address and the information you include and uses it to respond. Do not attach private photos or sensitive metadata unless support specifically requests them and you are comfortable sending them by email.

Children's privacy

ExifBoss is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. Great Minds Create does not knowingly collect personal information from children through ExifBoss.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when ExifBoss, its platform services, or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
